1. What information we collect
Pre-launch note: accounts, ordering, and payments are not live yet — the items below that describe them apply from launch. Today, the try-on, fit scores, and your fitting room run with nothing held by Mirr: measurements and saved looks stay in your browser on your device.
The information we collect depends on how you use Mirr. Here's a complete breakdown:
If you're a customer browsing or shopping on Mirr
- Account information — name and email address, if you create an account
- Launch-notification signup — your email address, if you ask to be notified when Mirr launches
- Body measurements — any measurements you enter (chest, waist, hips, length, inseam, in cm or inches) to receive fit scores. These are stored only in your browser on your device (local storage) and are never uploaded to or held by Mirr — fit scores are calculated on your device
- Photos you upload — any photo you upload for the virtual try-on feature
- Order information — items purchased, delivery address, order history
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; Mirr never sees or stores your full card details
- Device and usage information — browser type, device type, pages visited, and general usage patterns, collected automatically
If you're a brand listing products on Mirr
- Business contact details — name, email, business name
- Product information — product names, descriptions, prices, photos, garment dimensions, available sizes
- Payout information — bank or payout details, collected and held by Stripe Connect, not by Mirr directly
2. Why we collect it
We only collect information that's actually needed to make Mirr work. Specifically:
| Information | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Photos and measurements | To generate your virtual try-on result and calculate fit scores for the products you're viewing |
| Account and contact details | To manage your account, send order updates, and respond to enquiries |
| Order and payment information | To process and fulfil your purchases, and to pay brands correctly via Stripe Connect |
| Usage data | To understand how people use Mirr and to fix bugs or improve the experience |
| Brand product data | To list products accurately and enable virtual try-on and fit scoring for that product |
3. Your photos and virtual try-on
When you upload a photo to try on a garment, that photo is sent to PixelAPI, a third-party virtual try-on technology provider, to generate your result. We don't use your photo for anything beyond generating that try-on image and (if you choose to save your result) showing it back to you.
In more detail: when you upload a photo for virtual try-on, it is sent securely to PixelAPI (pixelapi.com), the technology provider Mirr uses to generate try-on images. PixelAPI processes the photo to merge it with the selected garment image and returns the result to Mirr, which displays it to you.
- We do not use your photo for facial recognition, identity verification, or any purpose beyond generating the try-on result you requested
- We do not sell, rent, or share your photo with brands, advertisers, or any party other than PixelAPI for the specific purpose of generating your try-on result
- Photos uploaded for try-on are not permanently stored on Mirr's servers beyond what's needed to display your result during your session. If you choose to save a result to your fitting room, it is stored in your browser on your device — not on Mirr's servers
- You can delete saved try-on results yourself at any time from your fit profile ("Clear all fit data"), or by clearing your browser data — because they live on your device, Mirr has no copy to delete
4. Who we share information with
We share information only where it's necessary to provide the Mirr service. We do not sell personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
| Who | What's shared | Why |
|---|---|---|
| PixelAPI | Your uploaded photo, the garment image | To generate your virtual try-on result |
| Stripe / Stripe Connect | Payment details, order amount, payout details for brands | To process payments and pay brands |
| The brand you purchase from | Your name, delivery address, order details | So the brand can fulfil and ship your order |
| imgbb (image hosting) | Product photos uploaded by brands | To host product images shown on Mirr |
| Cloudflare (infrastructure) | Your uploaded photo and the garment image, in transit only | Our servers run on Cloudflare and route your try-on request to PixelAPI |
| Formspree (form processing) | Information submitted via brand interest, product, or launch-notification forms, and automatic error reports (error message, page name, timestamp — no personal data) | To route form submissions and site-error alerts to the Mirr team |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Aggregate, cookieless page-view metrics — no personal data, no cross-site tracking | To understand how the Platform is used and improve it |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of Mirr, our brands, or our customers, or in connection with a future sale or transfer of the Mirr business (in which case you would be notified).
5. How long we keep your information
Pre-launch note: the account and order-history items below apply from launch — Mirr holds neither today.
- Try-on photos — not retained beyond your active session unless you choose to save a result; saved results live in your browser on your device until you clear them (from your fit profile or your browser settings)
- Account information — retained for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you wish to reactivate it
- Order history — retained for as long as required for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes (typically 5 years under Australian tax record-keeping requirements)
- Brand product and business data — retained for as long as the brand is listed on Mirr, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping
6. How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. This includes using secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the Platform, relying on reputable, security-vetted third-party providers (Stripe, PixelAPI) rather than building our own payment or image-processing infrastructure, and limiting access to personal information to what's needed to operate Mirr.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
7. Your rights and choices
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Request deletion of any personal information Mirr holds, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records (such as order history for tax purposes). Saved try-on results and measurements live only on your device — you delete those yourself from your fit profile
- Opt out of any marketing communications at any time
- Ask questions about how your information is being used
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@trymirr.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days.
8. Information for brand partners
If you list products on Mirr, you provide us with business and product information as set out in Section 1. This information is used to display your products, process sales, and pay you via Stripe Connect.
Mirr does not use your product photography, pricing, or business information for any purpose outside operating the Platform, and does not share it with competing brands or third parties, except as described in Section 4.
9. Cookies and tracking
Mirr itself sets no cookies today. Your fit data (measurements and saved try-ons) lives in your browser's local storage on your device, and our page-view analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless by design. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We have also built anonymous usage counters (an event name, a brand, a product, a timestamp — never measurements, photos, or emails); these are not yet active, and when they switch on they will still contain no personal data. If any of this changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent.
10. Children's privacy
Mirr is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@trymirr.com and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as Mirr grows or as our practices change. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
12. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at hello@trymirr.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.
